Differences
What sets DP-AMP apart from other providers?
Other providers also sell their modules diligently on the
Internet.
Sometimes with more or less success for the customer.
Temperature measurement:
Often not provided for or available, yet so important.
Most LDMOS fail due to overheating!
If the temperature is not measured at all or is measured far
away from the LDMOS, the customer assumes that the power
amplifier is cool, while the LDMOS is slowly being
damaged.
Gradually, bonding wires come loose until failure occurs.
Sometimes it is also the manufacturer's intention to sell a
cool power amplifier, at the expense of the customer, of
course!
Sometimes it is also the intention of the manufacturer, as a
cool output stage sells better, at the expense of the customer,
of course!
Input protection:
Hardly any suppliers have the combination of TVS diodes, fast
switching diodes, and Zener diodes to protect the sensitive
gates.
Feedback resistors:
Those days are long gone—far too dangerous for too little
improvement!
Inadequate filters:
The attenuation values in the passband (S21 transmission) are
often too high.
This means that the filters heat up, which causes thermal
stress on the components.
Any capacitors are used instead of special RF capacitors with
high Q.
This becomes noticeable in the event of mismatches when the
capacitors burn out.
“Thick” SMD capacitors with Q=500 are not RF capacitors.
The ESR is higher and so is the power loss; size is not
everything.
This may work at SWR 1:1 on the dummy, but at VSWR 2:1 (100
ohms) the situation is completely different.
RX/TX switching:
Always an integral part of the filter module!
With other suppliers, this still has to be tinkered with or
purchased separately.
Pressure bridges:
Even big brands have failed to understand the purpose of the
pressure bridge.
Just screw a clamp onto the LDMOS, left and right.
Leave space between the bridge and the LDMOS because of the
heat?!
There should be suitable material in between that presses down
on the entire LDMOS.
When screwing it tight, the LDMOS should not form a “hollow
back” but should be mounted with even pressure.
And when it comes to heat dissipation, this only takes place
downwards!
There is air between the LDMOS and the white cap!
Innovations:
Innovation is rarely evident, neither in hardware nor in
software.
Someone has to come along and show the way first, then others
will copy them.
Shipping costs and taxes:
Goods from abroad are often offered at a net price, even within
the EU!
Often, 21% tax is added, plus high shipping costs.
However, there are also “experts” who do not pay/remit any
taxes at all:
If the tax is not shown, you should be suspicious.
For goods outside the EU, there is a 19% import tax!
Service and support:
If you get stuck as a customer, you immediately rush to
Facebook.
The groups are full of people complaining and lamenting their
woes.
The community is supposed to fix it, and the foreign-language
provider remains silent.
This is something you see every day; they only make an effort
when it comes to sales.
Learning the hard way:
If you buy cheap, you buy twice!
PA modules and filters from China are always cheap!
If you want to burn your money and learn the hard way,
Aliexpress is the place for you.
Prices:
Quality has its price, but that doesn't mean quality has to be
expensive!
Just don't start comparing apples with oranges!
If you compare correctly and take all of the above points into
account, you will find
that there are often only small differences in price.
It is often not possible to make a direct comparison because
the quality, safety, and features differ significantly.
Difference:
As you can see, DP-AMP differs significantly from other
manufacturers and dealers.
Quality, innovation, features, safety, support.
