History

I obtained my amateur radio license at the age of 16 on April 13, 1988.
My great wish was to one day have a completely self-built station.
I was recently able to fulfill this wish.

I have always been interested in technology, so it was no surprise that this became my career.

During the HF-1200 and HVF-1k2 projects, I was still working full-time and traveling a lot for business.
I found the projects exciting, meeting lots of new people with the same hobby, and at first it was a lot of fun.
Then, unsurprisingly, the first envious people appeared on the scene.
Today's “experts” gained their knowledge in order to make a name for themselves or start their own companies.
That annoyed me at first, but today I just smile about it.

However, it was a stressful time because, in addition to my job and the projects, I had hardly any free time left.
After my professional situation changed and I was traveling even more, the project was discontinued.
It's important to remember that the project was replicated worldwide and everyone wanted support, which is understandable.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to do everything at once.

Over time, I founded a company in another industry and had more free time again.
The whole thing went so well that I sold the company in 2024 and decided to enjoy my life as a private individual.

However, since my wife was not convinced about “retirement” at the age of 50, I decided to revisit the topic of power amplifiers
and do so full-time.

Now, without any further professional obligations, it is much more enjoyable again!
I have much more time for my hobby and for DIY enthusiasts worldwide.
Many old contacts have blossomed again, which makes me very happy!

Today, things are more relaxed, and I am happy to be able to provide telephone support, which is more pleasant than answering emails.
Above all, emails can lead to misunderstandings that would never occur over the phone, and it is more efficient than writing emails.

This way, I really enjoy it!
